Pelé

Perhaps the greatest football player of all time, the one and only Pelé, aka Edson Arantes do Nascimento. He was among the greatest athletes of the 20th century. His legend is known around the world but in Brazil…he is god. His fame from the early 60s naturally led to sponsorship deals and eventually films. But perhaps his best film output would have to be the John Houston directed cult football WW 2 classic, ‘Escape To Victory‘. The star studded cast included legends Michael Caine, Sylvester Stallone and Max Von Sydow. Pelé’s legendary back kick was depicted in the finale of that epic classic
