Claudia McNeil was an American actress. She was best known for her role as Lena Younger in the original Broadway production of “A Raisin in the Sun” by Lorraine Hansberry, a role she reprised in the 1961 film adaptation. McNeil was a highly regarded stage actress and appeared in many other productions throughout her career. She was also a founding member of the American Negro Theatre in Harlem, New York. McNeil was widely respected for her talent and contributions to the theatrical world.
