David Wenham

David Wenham is an Australian actor born on September 21, 1965, in Marrickville, Sydney, Australia. He has had a successful career in film, television, and theatre.

Wenham is best known for his role as Faramir in the “The Lord of the Rings” film trilogy (2002-2003), based on the novels by J.R.R. Tolkien. He has also appeared in numerous other films, including “The Proposition” (2005), “300” (2006), “Public Enemies” (2009), and “Lion” (2016).

On television, Wenham is known for his roles in the Australian series “SeaChange” (1998-2000) and “Killing Time” (2011). He also played Harold Meachum in the Netflix series “Iron Fist” (2017).

Wenham has also had a successful career in theatre. He has performed with the Sydney Theatre Company and other theatre companies in Australia, as well as in London’s West End. He has won numerous awards for his stage work, including a Helpmann Award for Best Male Actor in a Play for his role in “The Crucible” in 2014.

In addition to his acting career, Wenham is also a filmmaker and has directed several short films and a documentary about the Australian artist Brett Whiteley.
