Richard Roxburgh

Richard Roxburgh is an Australian actor, writer, and director. He was born on January 23, 1962, in Albury, New South Wales, Australia. Roxburgh is known for his work in Australian and international film and television.

He has appeared in a wide range of film genres, including action, comedy, drama, and horror. Some of his notable film roles include Duke in “Moulin Rouge!” (2001), Count Dracula in “Van Helsing” (2004), and Detective Croft in “Silent Hill” (2006).

Roxburgh has also had a successful career in Australian television. He is best known for his role as Cleaver Greene in the legal drama series “Rake,” for which he won the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Award for Best Lead Actor in a Television Drama in 2011, 2012, and 2016.

In addition to his acting career, Roxburgh has also directed several feature films, including “Romulus, My Father” (2007) and “The Silence” (2019), and has written several screenplays. He is also an accomplished stage actor and has appeared in numerous productions for the Sydney Theatre Company and other theatre companies in Australia and the United Kingdom.
