Stephen Root is an American actor and voice actor. He was born on November 17, 1951, in Sarasota, Florida, United States.
Root began his acting career in the 1980s, appearing in small roles on TV shows like “The Love Boat” and “Remington Steele.” He gained recognition for his role as the eccentric station manager “Jimmy James” on the TV series “NewsRadio” (1995-1999).
Root has appeared in over 200 film and television productions, including “Office Space” (1999), “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” (2000), “No Country for Old Men” (2007), and “Get Out” (2017). He has also provided voices for numerous animated shows and movies, including “King of the Hill,” “Finding Nemo,” and “Over the Hedge.”
